Park la Paloma

Parque de la Paloma, or Paloma Park, is situated right in the heart of Benalmádena Costa. Covering some 200.000 m² and only 300 m from the coast. The park is entirely man-made and was only opened in the 1980s.

It feels as if you are a World away from the beaches and the usual tourist trappings. Children, in particular, have a great time in Paloma Park.

An impromptu animal sanctuary
Over the years the park has become something of an animal sanctuary, with rabbits, peacocks, goats, ostriches and various other animals wandering around.
Some of the animals are taken care of by Benalmádena town hall, others seem to have been left there. There are some very bewildered looking Guinea pigs running around.

Over the years, all the animals have been increasingly used to humans and most are very tame.

There are numerous walkways, a large children’s playground and a lake (even turtles…). It makes a great/free day out for all the family.

The address is Avenida Federico Garcia Lorco, Benalmádena Costa, Malaga.
If coming from the coast, the park is about 200m uphill from the ‘windmill’ roundabout on Avenida Machado.
